Test Methods for 3025 Bottle Cap

Test Methods for 3025 Bottle Cap

1. Dimensions of the 3025 Cap

Use measuring tools with an accuracy not lower than 0.02mm for inspection (specialized go/no-go gauges meeting technical requirements can also be used).

2. Appearance

2.1 Inspection Conditions

Observe under natural light or daylight-type lamps without direct sunlight.

2.2 Measurement of Printing Pattern Position Deviation

Use measuring tools with an accuracy not lower than 0.02mm to measure the printing pattern position deviation.

2.3 Appearance Requirements

The appearance of the 3025 cap should comply with:

Item

Specification

Product Surface

Structurally complete, fully formed, without obvious shrinkage, burrs, bubbles, or defects.

Color

Uniform color.

Contamination

No black spots, rust, oil stains, or other foreign attachments; no obvious abnormal odor.

Tamper-Evident Band

The tamper-evident band is connected to the cap body by connecting bridges, and the bridges are undamaged.

Printing

The printing on the 3025 cap should have distinct tones and be clear. The deviation of the printed pattern center from the outer diameter center of the cap surface should not exceed 1.5mm.

3. Printing Pattern Adhesion Performance Test

Apply adhesive tape with an adhesion force of (10±1) N/25mm to the printed pattern surface of the 3025 cap. After ensuring full contact without bubbles between the tape and the cap surface, pull the tape off along the surface direction and observe the pattern for peeling and integrity.

4. Sealing Performance Test

Seal the bottle with the 3025 cap using a capping machine at the specified torque that meets the sealing requirements, or use the torque specified by the 3025 cap supplier. Test with a seal tester: first pressurize to 200kPa, hold for 1 minute underwater, and observe for air leakage; then increase the pressure to 350kPa, hold for 1 minute, and observe whether the cap loosens or pops off.

5. Low-temperature Resistance Test

Fill the bottle with water to its nominal capacity, seal with the 3025 cap, place it sideways in a freezer at 4°C ±1°C for 24 hours, then invert and observe whether the 3025 cap cracks, deforms, or leaks at the seal.

6. Drop Test

Fill the bottle with water to its nominal capacity, seal with the 3025 cap, and test under the following conditions:

  • After placing at (4±1)°C for 24 hours: If the bottle capacity is <1L, drop it vertically bottom-down once from a height of 1.4m; if the bottle capacity is ≥1L, drop it horizontally sideways onto a concrete floor once from a height of 1m.
  • After placing at ambient temperature for 24 hours: Repeat the drop once according to the height and direction corresponding to the capacity above. After the test, observe whether the 3025 cap detaches or leaks at the seal.

7. Opening Torque and Breakaway Torque Test

Seal the bottle with the 3025 cap using a capping machine at the specified torque that meets the sealing requirements. After placing at ambient temperature for 24 hours, use a torque meter with an accuracy not lower than 0.1 N·m to test the opening torque and breakaway torque.
